Ukrainian drones strike key Russian logistics corridor to Crimea

Russian military bloggers reported on May 11 that Ukrainian drones are striking a key logistics corridor linking occupied Crimea with southern Ukraine, targeting the highway from Taganrog to Dzhankoi. Pro-war blogger Alexei Zhivov called the attacks “an extremely alarming signal,” claiming Ukraine is using long-range drones with Starlink systems. Another blogger, Vladimir Romanov, said drones hit the Mariupol-Berdiansk section at distances up to 160 km from the front line.

Russian military bloggers and propagandists said on Monday, May 11, that Ukrainian drones are striking targets up to 160-200 km (100-124 miles) behind the front line, targeting a key logistics corridor linking occupied Crimea with southern Ukraine.

The attacks focus on the highway running from Taganrog to Dzhankoi through occupied Mariupol, Berdiansk, Melitopol and Henichesk – a route often referred to as Russia’s “land corridor” to Crimea, according to Russian Telegram channels cited by the Astra outlet.

Russian pro-war blogger Alexei Zhivov described the attacks as “an extremely alarming signal” for both military and civilian logistics. “The enemy has begun reaching the key logistics artery,” Zhivov wrote, claiming Ukraine was using long-range drones with Starlink systems capable of striking targets up to 200 km away.

Another Russian military blogger, Vladimir Romanov, said Ukrainian drones were targeting the Mariupol-Berdiansk section of the route at distances up to 160 km from the front line. “Now it is no longer a rear-area road,” Romanov said in a video showing a burned fuel tanker near the highway.

The reports follow Ukraine’s Azov Brigade earlier publishing footage showing drone strikes on Russian military vehicles near occupied Mariupol. Azov claimed Ukrainian drone units are now capable of patrolling roads and striking targets at depths of up to 160 km behind the line of contact.

Kyiv has not officially commented on the latest Russian claims.
