Newly released CCTV footage shows the moment gunshots were fired at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro said the footage was released to prove there is no evidence the shooting was the result of friendly fire.
CCTV footage has been released of the moment gunshots were fired during the White House Correspondents' Dinner, the US Attorney for DC said Thursday.
Jeanine Pirro, the US Attorney for DC, said the footage was released to the public to prove "there is no evidence the shooting was the result of friendly fire."
Earlier Thursday, while answering questions from reporters, President Donald Trump said "it wasn't friendly fire," adding that "it wasn't us."
The release of the footage comes after a suspect was charged with attempted assassination of President Trump at the dinner, and as a DHS funding impasse persists following the shooting.
