Zhu Fenglian stated that we resolutely oppose the United States selling weapons to the Taiwan region of China, a stance that is consistent and clear. The U.S. has repeatedly violated its commitment by its leaders to not support "Taiwan independence," thereby encouraging "Taiwan independence" adventurism and undermining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait region. We firmly oppose this and urge the U.S. to adhere to the One-China principle and the provisions of the three Sino-U.S. joint communiqués, particularly the "August 17th" communiqué, to cease arming Taiwan and stop sending any wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" forces.
