In the city of Dnipro, a Russian strike on the evening of May 5 killed four people and wounded 19, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. Hanzha said the Russian military used missiles, aerial bombs, artillery, and drones in the attack. Four men aged 23, 33, 44, and 52 are in critical condition in hospital, and 13 people were hospitalized in moderate condition; the remainder will receive outpatient treatment, Hanzha reported. Enterprises were damaged in Dnipro, and in the Nikopol district, Russian forces targeted the district center and the communities of Marhanets, Pokrovske, Chervonohryhorivka, and Tomakivka, damaging an administrative building, a hotel, apartment buildings, private homes, and vehicles. In the Synelnykove district, a private house and a farm building were damaged in the Dubovyky community. Over the past day, Russian forces conducted more than 30 attacks on four districts of Dnipropetrovsk oblast, Hanzha said.

Separately, on May 5, Kharkiv and 15 other settlements in Kharkiv region came under Russian attack, killing eight people and injuring 40, including three children, according to Ukrinform. Over the past day, Kharkiv and 20 other settlements in the region were attacked, leaving 17 people injured, including two children. On May 5 at 20:20, an FPV drone struck the settlement of Staryi Saltiv in the Chuhuiv district, injuring a 51-year-old man, the Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office said. At around 20:30, an FPV drone hit a civilian car in the village of Ruska Lozova in the Kharkiv district, injuring two women aged 49 and 73, both hospitalized in moderate condition.

On May 6, a Shahed drone hit a private house in the Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv, causing a fire that engulfed 120 square meters, the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv region reported. Two women suffered acute stress reactions, the service said. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that another Shahed strike hit the Shevchenkivskyi district; no casualties were initially reported. Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, later said a 48-year-old woman was injured in the Novobavarskyi district and was suffering from shock, and the number of injured later rose to two. Seven houses were damaged in the Novobavarskyi district, Terekhov said.

On May 6, a drone strike on the village of Pysarivka in the Bohodukhiv district of Kharkiv region injured three people: two men aged 49 and 25, and a 48-year-old woman, Syniehubov reported on Telegram. A private house and a car were damaged.

On the morning of May 6, Shahed drones attacked the city of Kryvyi Rih and the Kryvyi Rih district, damaging infrastructure facilities, said Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defence Council. No casualties were reported.

Ukraine announced a ceasefire regime starting May 6 and called on Russia to take real steps, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, adding that Ukraine has not received official signals from Russia regarding a ceasefire.
