Ukraine Truce Fails as Drones Strike 780 Times in 24 Hours

Ukraine spent Sunday inside a truce that has not actually stopped the fighting. Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia Oblast 780 times in 24 hours of the declared May 9-11 ceasefire — 598 UAVs, mostly FPV drones, eight MLRS volleys and 174 artillery strikes across 33 settlements, killing one civilian and injuring three, the regional military administration reported. In Dnipropetrovsk, drones wounded a 23-year-old rescue worker on the way to assist residents of Myrove hromada in Nikopol district and a three-year-old girl in Synelnykove district, taken to hospital in moderate condition. Across the river Kherson region took FPV-drone and UAV-dropped munitions hits in Kherson city and Komyshany; four civilians were injured, including a 53-year-old Kherson City Council employee. In Sumy Oblast a 46-year-old man wounded by a drone strike on a Hlukhiv-hromada grain truck on 3 May died in hospital, while a fresh strike on a car in Znob-Novhorodske hromada on 9 May left another man, 47, injured.
