Today, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference.

A journalist asked: It was reported that Japan's Ministry of Justice allowed Taiwanese residents in Japan to change their registered place of origin from "China" to "Taiwan" starting this month. Do you have any comment on this?

Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, stated that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China. Japan's relevant actions attempt to create "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan," which severely violates the One-China principle and constitutes serious interference in China's internal affairs. We firmly oppose such actions.

As a country with historical culpability on the Taiwan issue, Japan should learn from the lessons of history, act prudently, adhere to the One-China principle and the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, and handle Taiwan-related issues with caution.

We sternly warn the DPP authorities that misjudging the situation by "seeking independence through foreign support" is doomed to fail.
