According to the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, the commission has recently initiated a review and investigation into serious disciplinary and legal violations by Wang Xiliang, former second-level investigator of the Kunming Municipal Government Counselor's Office (formerly Deputy Secretary of the Kunming Municipal Committee and Mayor).

Upon investigation, it was found that Wang Xiliang, as a leading cadre of the Party, has lost his ideals and convictions, abandoned his original mission, disregarded laws and discipline, and allowed his personal desires to expand. Despite being disciplined twice for violations, he showed no remorse and resisted organizational scrutiny. He ignored the spirit of the Central Committee's eight-point decision on improving Party and government conduct, improperly accepted gifts and money, and improperly accepted banquets and accommodation arrangements. He had others pay for expenses that should have been borne by himself. He failed to properly manage and educate his family, leading to a deterioration of family values and education. He used his position to seek benefits for others in project contracting and business operations, and illegally accepted large amounts of money and valuables.

Wang Xiliang has seriously violated the Party's political discipline, the spirit of the Central Committee's eight-point decision, the discipline of integrity, and the discipline of life, constituting serious duty-related violations and suspected of bribery. He did not restrain himself or stop his actions after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with a severe nature and adverse impact, warranting serious punishment. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Regulations on Disciplinary Actions of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Law on Administrative Sanctions for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," after deliberation by the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, it has been decided to expel Wang Xiliang from the Party, revoke the benefits he is entitled to in accordance with regulations, confiscate his illegal gains, and transfer his suspected criminal issues to the procuratorial organs for legal review and prosecution, along with the related assets.
