According to Xinhua News Agency, Russian and American delegations began talks in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The Russian side participating in the Riyadh talks is represented by Foreign Minister Lavrov and Presidential Assistant Ushakov. The U.S. side is represented by Secretary of State Rubio, National Security Advisor Waltz, and Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Witkoff. Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal is also present at the meeting.

According to CCTV News, Dmitriev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, told the media before the start of the Russia-US-Saudi talks that progress in the Russia-US negotiations might be achieved in the next two to three months.

He stated that the Biden administration has no intention of understanding Russia's concerns, but the current U.S. authorities are prepared to listen to and understand Russia's position. Dmitriev also mentioned that Russia and the United States should shift towards joint projects, including those in the Arctic region.

According to Global Times, at today's regular press conference of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a reporter asked about the negotiations between the United States and Russia in Riyadh regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that they would neither participate in nor accept the outcomes of these talks because they were not invited or informed. Additionally, European leaders held an emergency meeting in Paris, expressing their concerns about Ukraine being excluded from the relevant talks. What is China's stance on the current situation?

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that China has always believed that dialogue and negotiation are the only viable way to resolve the crisis, and has consistently advocated for peace and promoted talks. We welcome all efforts dedicated to peace, including the consensus on peace talks reached between the United States and Russia. At the same time, we expect all parties involved and stakeholders to participate in the peace talks process at an appropriate time.
